Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About: Why Use RSS |

Do you want to know the easiest way to offer your users dynamically updated content? We thought so. Keep reading.
The answer is RSS, but you already know that (at least if you read the title). RSS (Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary, depends on who you ask) enjoys increasing popularity. Many modern content management systems (news sites, blogs and forums) automatically create RSS feeds with their latest updates. As soon as the content is updated on the site, the feed is good and ready to go.
Take Wired, for example. If you put their RSS URL (http://www.wired.com/rss/index.xml) in an RSS Reader in your toolbar, the most recent Wired articles will automatically appear on your users' browsers:
How could you benefit from RSS in your toolbar?
You can utilize RSS to push various content that interest your users. This could be stock exchange, entertainment, news or sports. Whatever, whenever.
The great thing about having an RSS Reader in your toolbar is that it relieves you of manually updating your toolbar. Every time the site's content is updated, the toolbar automatically and seamlessly displays it. If you don't already have RSS, now's the time to login to your account and pimp your toolbar.

Chat Up Your Website |

Add a chat banner to your site, and make your toolbar's chat your site's chat.
(We're getting chatty here. Let's see how long a sentence you can write with the words "chat".) In other words, let all your web site's users enjoy your toolbar's chat, even if they don't have the toolbar installed.
It's quite simple, really.
Here's how to do it:
- New to the chat? Enhance your toolbar in a few quick steps.
- Add the "Chat" component to your toolbar
- This screen will open up:
- Click on the "Add the chat to your site" link
Now this "Launch the Chat From Your Site" screen will open up:
- Choose the chat banner you like best
- Copy the HTML code at the bottom of the page
- Paste the HTML code in your site, where you'd like the banner to appear
- Close the "Launch the Chat From Your Site" screen
- Click on "Save" in the "Add Chat" screen.
Congrats!
- Already have a chat in your toolbar? Let all your site users enjoy it too:
- Temporarily delete your chat button (Bare with us here, we know what we're saying).
- Take steps 1-8 mentioned above.
Login to your account and let the chat begin!

This month, it's 1Club FM.

"I would first like to say that the service EffectiveBrand is providing is amazing!
Our EffectiveBrand toolbar seriously took us about 15 minutes to build. I was amazed at how quick and simple it was to build. The features that EffectiveBrand offers covers EVERYTHING that I had always wanted to add to our older toolbar. I especially love the Messaging feature where we can announce live shows, post charts, and communicate in real-time to our users. The best part about having a toolbar is that our site is in the user's face 24/7, so they are always going to be checking out our website each day.
For the radio feature, we have added over 45 of our live radio channels ranging from Dance and Trance, to Top 40 and Hip-Hop. This feature amazed me because in the past, I searched for months for someone to develop something similar to this on our old tool bar, and no one could understand the Windows Media technology. You guys nailed it! The radio player works flawless, and the best part is that that it looks very sharp and professional in our toolbar.
One feature that also impressed me was the Current Temperature and 3 day forecast. This is a big time feature that the big boys use in their toolbars and EffectiveBrand has made it simple for all sites to use.
The EffectiveBrand Control Panel is top notch and also very user-friendly. You guys have used the KIS (Keep it simple) format, which really helped me and my staff understand what we were doing.
Last, my favorite feature; whenever we need to make a change to the toolbar, it's a click a way, which automatically updates for all users using our toolbar. Our last toolbar, we had to upload files, xml data, etc to make this happen.
Our listeners are raving about this toolbar, and I am very proud to have it available to our users. Thank you very much for offering a great service!
