The heat is on here at EffectiveBrand. It's been a very busy month with much progress. June began very well: The 100,000th publisher built their toolbar using our platform!
As we write this, we're already up to 102,226 web publishers to be exact, but the figures will definitely rise by the time you read this. Same goes for our recent daily toolbar-download stats: nearly 22,000 EffectiveBrand toolbars are downloaded everyday! It's definitely toolbar time.

Speaking of heat, thanks for the fantastic feedback from all over the world regarding the weather component. We keep receiving your E-mails telling us you find it extremely useful.

Search and You Shall Find! Now from your Website
Did you know you can now add the search box you defined in your toolbar to your own site?
Placing it on your site provides your visitors with easy access to the various search engines you've defined in your toolbar. And for you, it's another way to promote your toolbar through a highly useful feature.

It's pretty simple:
  • Login to your toolbar account
  • Click on the "Banners" tab
  • In "Choose a banner type" select "Search Banner"
  • Copy the HTML code on the bottom of the page
  • Paste it on your site where you'd like the search box to appear
Here's what you'll get:

Firefox Add-ons - How to Submit your Toolbar
You're probably familiar with The Mozilla Firefox Add-Ons site. It's an extensive directory of extensions developed for Firefox.
Get "2 for 1" by submitting your toolbar to Firefox Addons:
  1. Promotion of your toolbar
  2. Exposure to new visitors who are completely unaware of your site

This is how you do it:
  • Go to https://addons.mozilla.org/developers/createaccount.php
  • Sign up for an account
  • Sign in to your new account from: https://addons.mozilla.org/developers/index.php
  • Click on "Add New Extension"
  • Download and save the special XPI for Firefox submission from http://YOUR_DOWNLOAD_PAGE/ffext
  • Upload that XPI to Firefox Add-Ons
  • Describe your toolbar in a few sentences. You must include a link to your privacy page in this language:
    "The toolbar collects anonymous usage data but it DOES NOT spy on your browsing habits. Please see our privacy policy here: http://YOUR_DOWNLOAD_PAGE/PrivacyPage"
  • Continue to the next steps
The approval could take a while but it's worth waiting to see your downloads soar.

Get Sticky - Tips to Increase your Stickiness
We're all in the game of staying relevant to our users, so that they'll keep using the toolbars as long as possible. With the expertise based on feedback from over 100,000 EffectiveBrand toolbar publishers, we decided to write a new column on how to boost your user stickiness.
June's stickiness tip is to give your users what they really want: an integrated radio player in their toolbar. We've found that downloads and usage go up dramatically- up to 60%- when a radio is included! If you don't have one, add it today.
